Quello mitocondriale, trasmesso per via materna, è identico a quello di un discendente e molto simile a quello di altri cinque, vivi e vegeti. Corrispondono altri tratti del fenotipo, anche se sarebbe stato più biondo che nei ritratti. Bref, al 99,999% i resti sono quelli di Riccardo III, l'ultimo dei Plantageneti. Tuttavia ehm...

Dal punto di vista genetico, forse no. Da quello storico invece... "Il mio regno per un cavallo", implorava Riccardo III, ma il regno era davvero suo? Sì, se la falsa paternità è avvenuta dopo di lui, nella famiglia dei Somerset, duchi di Beaufort. Altrimenti:
A false-paternity between Edward III (1312–1377) and John would mean that John’s son, Henry IV (1367–1413), and Henry’s direct descendants (Henry V and Henry VI) would have had no legitimate claim to the crown.
